Reader Discussion - What Was The Last Game That Surprised You?

I'm going to level with you. As someone who liked but did not love the original series, I did not expect God of War to be as good as it is. The pacing, beautiful writing, fantastic combat, and awe-inspiring boss fight have all made the game an early Game Of The Year leader for me. So what about you, reader?
